Have you heard of the baby shower organizer who asks that you purchase a board book instead of a greeting card (gasp!). Coming from a greeting card shop owner this is blasphemous, but if I had to be unbiased that is a good idea. You are going to spend $6 on a card, might as well be on a book. You can't really do that for adult birthday parties because adult books are more than $6, but I mean yeah, why not for babies. Goes with my whole read to me mission anyway.
Don't get any book - get a board book. Babies will rip or eat the book otherwise. Ok, so they will still try to eat the board book, but board books are resilient, so...

1. My first book of feminism (for boys)

There's a girl version too (see below). I got this and I feel like it isn't just the run of the mill "girls rule" book. I like the lessons.

I am always looking for ways to talk about the importance of boys and girls being equal, respecting people’s personal space, it being ok to play with any toys they want (even if they are thought to be “girl” toys), etc.

2. My first book of feminism (for girls)

This book spreads the idea of equality and is great for little babies, but also for toddlers as they get older and start to understand what's in the book.

This one rhymes, which I like. The ideas are simple and superficial. That said it's for a baby. No need to get too deep at the beginning stages.

I went the wirecutter way where I just keep it simple. Too many recommendations and you don't know what you're supposed to purchase. Too much advice is no advice.
